     This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Budget Host Cloverland Motel Ironwood is a good spot to spend a night or two; picturesque scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Big Powderhorn Mountain. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Gogebic Range. A great location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Horseshoe Lake is Montreal River; what would winter be without some skiing at Whitecap Mountain.  
   These mountains rock, just explore all the exciting things to do in the Gogebic Range. Get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Montreal River - West Fork, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Newman Springs Ski Trail.

Horseshoe Lake is located in the Gogebic Range. This lake is so wonderful. The amount of rainfall that falls at Horseshoe Lake is close to the national average; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February.
Throughout the warm months here at Horseshoe Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Horseshoe Lake temperatures dip to the 0's.
