When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The       winter brings highs down to the 10's; overnight lows in the-10's for Horgen Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Prairie River offers some splendid whitewater, naturally you could also go to Thompson Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Larson Lake, and going for a hike on the Bearskin State Park Trail is always a glorious adventure.
