If you come at the right time of year, Black River offers some great whitewater, and going for a hike along the Newman Springs Ski Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Turtle River in a kayak, and if you need a place to stay Americinn - Ironwood, Mi is a nice choice.       The amount of rainfall that falls at Hobbs Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. All through the summertime months highs here at Hobbs Lake get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Highs all through the winter are usually in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Hobbs Lake fall into                  the-10's.
