During the days of summer at Hintz Lake highs are commonly in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Hintz Lake descend into the 0's. From a rain point of view Hintz Lake is a pretty common location; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest of the months is February.       Onland Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; you can stay the night at Family Frontier Campground. There's whitewater on Little Wolf River for all you adrenaline kick people. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn STEVENS POINT - CONVENTION CTR is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Stevens Point here. This lake is so wonderful.
