Get covered with water paddling on Wisconsin River, and this is a popular location for folks from Merrill. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A lake close by is Gross Lake. Some nearby water includes Carlson Creek; if you need a place to stay Americinn Rhinelander is a nice choice. Hilderbrand Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lake George Campsite is a great local campground; there's       good hiking along the Bearskin State Park Trail. Hilderbrand Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hilderbrand Lake that you need to camp here for a while, West Bay Camping Resort is a fine site for that; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Rhinelander is a tremendous place to spend a night or two.                  All through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Hilderbrand Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's.
