Program Each day of summer camp we have two morning Bible sessions and an evening Bible chapel. We offer skill times for youth to enjoy archery, riflery, boating, fishing, and crafts. We have a one-hour equestrian program where campers enjoy riding horses on the trails of a local stable. For Junior High and Senior campers we make available the exciting game of paint ball. We also offer tubing down the Mecan River for our Senior High and Family campers.
Other Unique Features
Camp Fairwood has several mature pine plantations that provide a unique atmosphere. Trees are harvested about every 8 years.
The sandy soil at camp makes playing field games possible even right after inclement weather.
We are very thankful to the Lord that we have very few mosquitoes (relatively speaking at Camp Fairwood!

...eds of up to 40mph. The best part is tubers don't have to walk back to the top of the hill. There is a specially designed lift that tows riders back to the top of the hill while sitting in their tubes. With the addition of the park, Nordic Mountain has opened up winter recreation to everyone.
In addition to the tubing park, Nordic Mountain continues to undergo many changes and improvements-one of the biggest in snowmaking.
Nordic Mountain can make snow on 100% of its terrain including the tubing park. With the improvements in snowmaking technology, they can produce higher quality snow and do so in warmer temperatures. In the past few years Nordic Mountain has more than doubled its snowmaking capacity. The goal is to open earlier, close later, and remain open on marginal winter days. One of the biggest projects to improve snowmaking at Nordic Mountain will serve a dual purpose. The addition of a 10 million gallon snowmaking pond will not only supply more cold water for snowmaking, but in the summer of 2009 is scheduled to be made into the second wakeboard winch park in the cou... |
