Man, is there heaps of enjoyable things to do in close proximity to Helen Lake. Skiing at Norway Mountain is one of those things you just should do. During the days of summer at Helen Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Helen Lake tend to be in the       0's. If you come at the right time of year, Pike River - South Branch offers some wonderful whitewater, and camping is available at Tranquil Vista Campgrounds. At Helen Lake you always meet someone from Marinette, and a good nearby hotel is Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI. This lake is so wonderful. There are some fine whitewater spots on Pike River, and a nice place to camp here at Helen Lake is Amberg Campgrounds and Bar. While you're here                  at Helen Lake, you could also stop by wonderful Cedar Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Crivitz Lodge is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two.
