A lake nearby is Cedar Lake, and a day on the slopes of Norway Mountain is just what you need. If you get bored of Helen Lake, you could also go to close by Long Lake, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pike River - South Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI is a pleasant site to get some rest, and at Helen Lake you always meet someone from Marinette.

| | Lake is a good location of typical rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Whitewater paddling is great on Pike River, and if you came for an overnight stay Amberg Campgrounds and Bar is a tremendous place to camp. while night lows are usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Helen Lake dip into the 0's.
Tranquil Vista Campgrounds is a good campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Crivitz Lodge is a pleasant site to spend a night or two.

This camp ground is the best I travel 346 mi or 6 hours to enjoy it. Unfortamatly not this year =[...i like camping alot and this is one of the better places I have gone because you can do alot to entertain yourself and theres always good fishing on the lakes so I highly reccomend this campground to anyone that wants to have a good time and lots of fun....This is a nice campground but there are alot of seasonal sites that fill the park...this is a nice camping spoy with plenty of attractions you wont be disappointed... |
