Throughout the warm days of summer at Heart Lake highs are commonly in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Isle Campground if you're here at Heart Lake, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Minocqua is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. From a rain point of view Heart Lake is a relatively normal location; the month of August
is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.

Armour Lake
 | My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.... |
