Whitewater paddling is great on Flambeau River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day at Hay Lake you can take a hike along the Newman Springs Ski Trail, and Flambeau River - North Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Hay Lake is excellent!       After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Park Falls is a great spot to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Hay Creek Flowage. The skiing at Whitecap Mountain is good; Hay Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Lake Three - Chequamegon National Forest is a fine place to camp nearby. The yearly precipitation here at Hay Lake is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain                  while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Stay the night at Mineral Lake - Chequamegon National Forest, and hey, East Fork Hay Creek is a magnificent local stream. For the period of the summertime months at Hay Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's.
