What would winter be without some skiing at Trollhaugen, and close by you find the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Yeah, come here to Hatchet Lake for a good time. A wonderful site to camp here at Hatchet Lake is Pine Grove Resort, and there are other sites here than Hatchet Lake, for example Land Lake. Get drenched paddling on St. Croix       River. The scenery at Bohn Dam in close proximity to Hatchet Lake is beautiful, and golf can be played at Frederic Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous nearby hotel is Luck Country Inn; hey, Gotta ski right? Wild Mountain is a good place to do that. There's some flowing water close by, South Branch Trade River is a stream you can go to during your stay. Lakes? Sure, Young Lake is nearby. At Hatchet Lake during the summertime months highs                  are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 10's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Hatchet Lake temperatures dip to the-10's. If time allows, Saint Croix National Scenic River is a national park worth checking out, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on St. Croix River is so much fun, and camping at Birchwood Beach Campgrounds is always a great experience.
