There are great sites to look at along the Virgin Pine Trail, and there's whitewater on Chippewa River - West Fork for all you adrenaline kick people. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Hammil Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail, and camping is available at Shewahmegon       Boys Camp. Going for a hike on the Pigeon Lake Trail is always a fine adventure, and if you're a golfer then a tremendous nearby course is Tahkodah Hills Golf Course. If you came for an overnight stay Two Lakes Campground is a wonderful spot to camp; dry warm beds await you at North Haven Country Cottage. And that's not all you can do here at Hammil Lake. A lake close by is Cable Lake; after a long day outdoors Hummingbird Haven is a magnificent place to                  spend a night or two. During the warm months at Hammil Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
