Reimer Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Turtle River. A typical amount of rain falls here at Goose Lake; most of the rain falls during August; the driest of the months is February. There's fine hiking along the Newman Springs Ski Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Ferry Lake. Throughout the summer, highs typically       are in the 70's at Goose Lake. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Goose Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Flambeau River - South Fork right next door to Goose Lake. There's so much to do here at Goose Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Emily Lake Campground is a magnificent location for that.
