This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Gilas Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Marty and June Katzka is a great place for that. Gilas Lake gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month of September is the wettest with       most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Lakes are wonderful; Heisel Lake is a lake that's near Gilas Lake, and Gilas Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Timberline Resort and Campground is a magnificent local campground. You're perhaps into lakes, Mattrich Lake is one of those close by; a great spot for whitewater paddling is Thunder River. While you're here at Gilas Lake you can play some golf at Desmidt's Golf Course & Country                  Club; Best Western Crivitz Lodge is a fine location to get some rest. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Gilas Lake. You can run the rapids of Peshtigo River in close proximity to Gilas Lake. Summertime highs at Gilas Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's.
