Try Barnes Creek; Gibson Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Council Grounds State Park is a great place to camp nearby. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Merrill, Wi, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Merrill. This lake is so wonderful. Do pop by Henrich Lake next to Gibson Lake, it's a pretty lake; a golf course nearby is Merrill Public Golf Club. The skiing at Granite Peak       is great; you can run the rapids of Pine River. Pesabic Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and after a long day outdoors Pine Ridge Inn is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Gibson Lake. Prairie River is a good whitewater spot close to Gibson Lake, and you can stay the night at Rib Mountain State Park. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Gibson Lake. Summer overnight                  lows fall down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are typically in the 10's, and overnight lows at Gibson Lake during the wintertime mostly dip into the-10's. Gibson Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly September, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
