You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ghost Lake has to offer, you can camp at Northforest Campgrounds, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Rhinelander. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Ghost Lake, you can go for a hike along the Bearskin State Park Trail, and at Ghost Lake you always meet someone from Merrill. This lake is so wonderful. Through the long summer days highs here at Ghost Lake reach the 70's.
Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 10's with temperatures at Ghost Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. From a precipitation point
of view Ghost Lake is a pretty normal place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.

This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane....
