The skiing at Wilmot mountain is delightful; camping is available at Fox River Recreation. Through the warm months at George Lake highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and during       the dark hours in the winter at George Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. The Tamarack View Trail offers hiking at its best. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things close to George Lake. Drift down the rapids of Root River in a kayak; an afternoon playing golf at Bristol Oaks Country Club is always a pleasure. George Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.                  Everybody close by loves skiing at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing), and George Lake is a location with many visitors from Racine. Get drenched paddling on Pike River, naturally you could also go to Barber Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Executive Inn is a good place to get some rest, and if you came for an overnight stay Happy Acres Kamp Ground is a glorious site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes?
