You'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Curve Lake near Gem Lake; do take a hike on the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Gem Lake is close to the national average; during the month of September you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. All       the outdoors cool things in the vicinity of Gem Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites. At Gem Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; night lows at Gem Lake through the winter regularly fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Gem                  Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Heaven's Up North Campground is a great place for that; hiking is a popular thing to do around Gem Lake; Dendro Eco Trail is a pleasant local trail.
