High temperatures at Gateway Lake through the summertime are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 10's; night lows in the 0's for Gateway Lake. After a long day outdoors Settle Inn & Stes Eagle River       is a nice spot to spend a night or two, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Ontonagon River - Middle Branch. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Wild Eagle Lodge, and a picturesque lake like Moon Lake is a tremendous location to pop by. Borderline RV Park and Campground is a great campground nearby; there's great hiking along the Kentuck-Spectacle Lake Trail. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place!
