Ranch Lake is close at hand, and Marty and June Katzka is a wonderful local campground. A great close by hotel is Best Western Crivitz Lodge; if you come at the right time of year, Peshtigo River offers some pleasant whitewater. Throughout the summer at Gaffney Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at       Gaffney Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. North Branch Peshtigo Brook is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay, and float down the rapids of Thunder River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Frog Lake is near Gaffney Lake, and Thunder Lake Lodge is a glorious campground nearby. Gaffney Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; through the month of September you get the most rain around here,                  and February is when it's the driest.
