From a rain point of view Foss Lake is a pretty typical spot; through August this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the warm months at Foss Lake highs are generally in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Foss Lake are in the-10's. Hiking along the       Ice Age Trail is magnificent fun, and dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Medford, Wi. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm places, why not check out Eska Lake near Foss Lake; in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jump River - South Fork. Whitewater paddling is nice on Yellow River; if you came to camp Chippewa Campground is a good spot to do that. Americinn - Thorp, Wi is a brilliant site to                  get some rest. There's so much to do here at Foss Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kathryn Lake Campground is a splendid spot for that.
