at Pool Five, too delightful to be true. If you came to camp Lake Dubay Shores Campground is a tremendous location to do that, and Pool Five is great enough to spend more than a day at, River's Edge Campground is a great local campground. Haumschild Hill is simple to spot from Pool Five, and whitewater paddling is good on Wisconsin River.

Half Moon Lake
 | The landing is very steep and hard to get back up in the winter but the fishing can be great if you find the right spot to fish. Lot of shacks out there becouse the Eauplane is so low. A lot of good fisherman having a good time on the ice. Halfmoon bar has great food and drinks next to the landing so stop in and say hi. Bring the gang and your gear and we will see ya at Halfmoon.... |
Lake Joanis
 | 18 miles away I lover lake joanis. I just love how they try to preserve the lake so much so the vegetation is high and the wildlife is high. Makes it a good fishing spot, when you're the only person there.... |
Granite Peak
 | 19 miles away 5 PHOTOS This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane.... i have lived and snowboarded in Colorado and Austria. For the Midwest only Lutsen in Minn. can be compared! The vertical keeps you challenged unlike the resorts in the U.P. and the rest of the Midwest! Only 3 hrs from Milwaukee!!! love it if you are in the Midwest and can't head WEST!!!... |
Nordic Mountain

Three terrain parks, with a beginner, intermediate, and expert park offer freestyle skiers and snowboarders everything they would expect in a top notch park. Nordic Mountain's goal is not only to have some of the best freestyle terrain in Wisconsin, but in all of the Midwest. Two glade runs offer expert skiers and boarders challenging tree skiing on some of the steepest terrain on the hill. Realizing not everyone is willing to try skiing or snowboarding, Nordic Mountain installed the StoneRidge Tubing Park in 2006. The tubing park is over 1500ft long with over 90ft of vertical drop. If has five chutes and numerous ''rollers'' that add lots of thrills for the riders approaching speeds of up to 40mph. The best part is tubers don't have to walk back to the top of the hill. There is a specially designed lift that tows riders back to the top of the hill while sitting in their tubes. With the addition of the park, Nordic... |
