If you are in Rusk county it's always a good idea to stop by Fireside Lakes. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Fireside Lakes rules! Very pretty scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Christie Mountain, and if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Duncan Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along

| | the Hickory Ridge Trail is wonderful fun; of course Potato Creek flows through this region.
A great nearby hotel is Paradise Shores Resort Hotel, and going for a hike along the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Americinn Lodge Ladysmith is a great place to get some rest, and Fireside Lakes is great enough to spend more than a day at, Kamp Sugarrbush Bar and Campgrnd is a great local campground. There's so much to do here at Fireside Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Northshore Bar and Campground
is a fine place for that, and do take a hike on the Deer Fly Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Fireside Lakes; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is generally the driest month.
For the duration of the long summer days at Fireside Lakes temperatures are generally in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Fireside Lakes temperatures drop to the-10's.
