This lake is one of the great places here in the Gogebic Range. The annual precipitation here at Lake Evelyn is about average; most of the rain falls through June; February meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Lake Evelyn has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Black River, and Double E Resort is a great local campground. There are some       glorious whitewater spots on Turtle River, and you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Newman Springs Ski Trail. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Gogebic Range will keep you coming back many times. Blackjack is a great local ski area, and you're probably interested in lakes, Lake Dorothy is one of those nearby. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Ironwood is a perfect choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Big 6 RV Resort and                  Campground is a magnificent place to camp. All through the long summer days at Lake Evelyn highs are typically in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 10's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Evelyn temperatures dip to the-10's.
