A great spot for whitewater paddling next to Evelyn Lake is Chippewa River - West Fork, needless to say you could also pop by Ghost Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Go for a hike on the Black Lake Trail, and Junek's Bay Cabins is a wonderful site to get some rest. High temperatures at Evelyn Lake during the summertime are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime       comes with highs in the 10's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Evelyn Lake drop into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at North Haven Country Cottage; if you came to camp Chippewa River Campground is a tremendous place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Near Evelyn Lake you locate the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and get                  your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Marengo River. That right there is plenty of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Gogebic Range has it all. East Fork Ghost Creek is a pretty stream that is worth going to; camping at Boulder Lodge Resort is always a good experience. Evelyn Lake is a beautiful lake in the Gogebic Range. Evelyn Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Gogebic Range.
