Lakes are magnificent; Tiedemans Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Esser Pond; you can hit the slopes at Devils Head nearby. This lake is so wonderful. So many amusing things near Esser Pond, just incredible. If time allows, Ice Age National       Scenic Trail is a national park worth going to; Tyrol Basin has great slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. People from Madison love to come to Esser Pond, and Esser Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Crystal Lake Campground is a nice local campground. Esser Pond is a good site of normal rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is January. There's so much to do here at Esser Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Smokey Hollow Campground is a glorious place for that.
