Skiing at Trollhaugen is one of those things you just have to do, and soar down the rapids of Apple River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit St. Croix River, and camping at Cast-a-way Trailer Park is always a great experience. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites St. Croix Valley, Wi is a fine place to get some rest; you can never get enough of the tremendous       skiing at Wild Mountain. Otter Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit, and Twenty-Ninth Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Looking for a great journey? Saint Croix National Scenic River is quite near Elkins Lake, and if you're here, you could also explore picturesque East Lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Elkins Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime                  highs all through the winter are in the 10's with temperatures at Elkins Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Elkins Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally June, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. If you need a location to stay Luck Country Inn is a delightful choice, and Elkins Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Lakeview Park and Campground is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
