     Crane Foot Lake is a wonderful lake near Ebert Lake; hey, Gotta ski right? Granite Peak is a great place to do that. Pine Ridge Inn is a magnificent place to get some rest; if you came to camp Birkensee Resort is a nice place to do that. Throughout the days of summer at Ebert Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 10's  
   while Ebert Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. Ebert Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February.
If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Ebert Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Prairie River offers some pleasant whitewater; lakes are such peaceful locations, why not pop by Bear Lake. There are some delightful whitewater
 
               spots on Wisconsin River; camping at Northforest Campgrounds is always a tremendous experience. Take a hike on the Bearskin State Park Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Rodeway Inn & Suites, and folks from Merrill love to come here.

This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane....

The vertical keeps you challenged unlike the resorts in the U.P. and the rest of the Midwest! Only 3 hrs from Milwaukee!!!
