East Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Grove Resort is a wonderful local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Apple River offers some fine whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ST. CROIX VALLEY, and probably you're looking       for close by lakes? Sure, Elkins Lake is just a very short distance away. If time allows, Saint Croix National Scenic River is a national park worth going to, and there are some good whitewater spots on St. Croix River. If you need a place to stay Luck Country Inn is a nice choice, and you can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Trollhaugen. For the period of the summertime at East Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures                  plunge down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are frequently in the 10's while East Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Otter Creek right next door to East Lake is a splendid idea.
