Beautiful East Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Eagle Mountain Golf Course is a tremendous golf course close by; everyone close by loves skiing at Norway Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to Badwater Creek while you're here at East Lake, and East Lake is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Iron Mountain Campgrounds is a magnificent place to camp nearby.

| | getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Brule River, and you're probably into lakes, South Lake is one of those nearby. Rivers Bend Campground is a magnificent local campground, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN is a great place to get some rest. Dry warm beds await you at Budget Host Inn Iron Mountain, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Pine River.

Lake. The smiling folks of Iron Mountain like to hang out nearby; of course, this is a great area for folks who like lakes, Long Lake is a lake nearby. East Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain
is June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the summertime months highs here at East Lake get into the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's; night lows all through the wintertime for East Lake tend to be in the-10's.

Paint River

I just took a 30 mile trip down this river with a group of 6 and three canoes. I thought it was great overall. There are a few shallow spots where we had to get out of the boat and pull it through the water but otherwise the depth is good. As far as the quote ''pretty good campgrounds'' go, these were not easily found but can be set up in the less dense forests alongside the water. The stretch over the hemlock rapids is a bit difficult on the lower hemlock but the upper is an exciting though slightly wet ride. The overall current throughout the river is not too fast so some paddling is needed. Thats about it, this is a great river. The scenery is beautiful, and if your staying overnight the stars are miraculous, so enjoy the view. If your in the trees alot watch out for ticks, (they found me well) but other than that, enjoy the ride.... |
