Get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Chippewa River - West Fork, and you're most likely hooked on lakes, Sickles Lake is one of those close by. For the period of the summertime highs here at Eagle Nest Lake get into the 70's, and the night is rather colder of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime       highs throughout the wintertime are in the 10's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Eagle Nest Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Man, is there heaps of fun things to do near Eagle Nest Lake. Good hiking is available along the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail, and you                  can run the rapids of Chippewa River - East Fork. From a rainfall point of view Eagle Nest Lake is a reasonably normal place; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Eagle Nest Lake; Virgin Pine Trail is a tremendous local trail. Lakes are glorious; One Shoe Lake is a lake that's near Eagle Nest Lake.
