Do take a look at Dahl Lake next to Depot Lake, it's a charming lake, and a perfect nearby hotel is Best Western Northwoods Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Apple River, and camping is available at Pine Grove Resort. The amount of rain that falls at Depot Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during June while February is regularly the driest month. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the wintertime highs are commonly in the 10's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Depot Lake temperatures sink to the-10's.
