If you came for an overnight stay Big 6 RV Resort and Campground is a great spot to camp; Comfort Inn Ironwood is a good location to get some rest. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Deertail Lake; most of the rain falls through June; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Big Powderhorn Mountain, and going for a hike on the Newman Springs Ski Trail is always a glorious adventure. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Gogebic
Range. Deertail Lake is near Shay Dam which is a gorgeous place certainly worth a visit; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Blackjack. That right there is a heap already, but it continues; Deertail Lake has
it all. Wabasso Lake Campground is a great local campground, and if you've had enough of Deertail Lake, Long Lake is close by. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Gogebic Range. Visit Evelyn Creek if you're here at Deertail Lake; paddling on Black River is so much fun.
