There's so much to do here at Deer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Highland Park Campground is a perfect place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Spooner Golf Club, and after a long day outdoors Best Western American Heritage Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two. From a rainfall point of view Deer Lake is a quite typical       location; August is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Deer Lake is not the only spot close by, Bass Lake is a close by lake. Paddling on St. Croix River is so much fun, and Deer Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, West Point Campgrounds is a fine local campground. High temperatures at Deer Lake throughout the months of summer are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
