There is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Deer Lake called the Newman Springs Ski Trail, and you can never       get enough of the perfect skiing at Big Powderhorn Mountain. Deer Lake is a good site of normal rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Deer Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are commonly in the 10's with temperatures at Deer Lake dipping down into the-10's during                  winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
