If you are in this part of Wisconsin make sure to pay a visit to Dead Horse Slough. Dead Horse Slough is one of the lakes here in the Gogebic Range. So much cool stuff to do here at Dead Horse Slough, too tremendous to be true. There's so much to do here at Dead Horse Slough that you need to camp here for a while, Day Lake Campground is a great location for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River - East Fork offers some fine whitewater. | | come up here to the Gogebic Range for a great time. Junek's Bay Cabins is a great site to get some rest; hiking is a popular thing to do around Dead Horse Slough; Rock Lake National Recreation Trail is a nice local trail.
Dead Horse Slough is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Black Lake Campground is a nice local campground, and tremendous hiking is available along the Black Lake Trail. Through the summer months highs here at Dead Horse Slough get | |

into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Dead Horse Slough. A quick journey to Dingdong Creek close to Dead Horse
Slough is a wonderful idea; a scenic lake like Cranberry Lake is a great place to stop at.
This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Brunsweiler River, and don't leave Dead Horse Slough without first going for
a hike along the Great Divide Snowmobile Trail. Be careful coming to the Gogebic Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. Dry warm beds await you at North Haven Country Cottage. The amount of precipitation that falls
at Dead Horse Slough is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
