Why not camp at Loon Lake Camp Grounds since you're here at Dead Goose Lake. There is a fine hiking trail close to Dead Goose Lake called the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Christie Mountain while you're here. Near Dead Goose Lake you hit upon the Hardwood Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and there are plenty of people       from Eau Claire here at Dead Goose Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Microtel Rice Lake is a brilliant site to spend a night or two; Atwood Lake is a good lake nearby. Super 8 Motel - Chetek is a good spot to get some rest; going for a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail is always a fine adventure. Dead Goose Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and February is the month with the least                  moisture. During the summertime months at Dead Goose Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 20's; night lows during the winter for Dead Goose Lake tend to be in the-10's. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun.
