| | Inn is a fine location to spend a night or two. Do have a look at Baker Lake in the neighborhood of Crystal Lake, it's a lovely lake, and camping is available at Leesome Pine Campgrounds. Crystal Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Namekagon River, and a golf course nearby is Butternut Hills Golf Course & Golf Learning Center. | |

If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Crystal Lake. A short visit to Westenberg Spring is always worthwhile, and since you're here, you could also go to delightful Potato Lake.

Namekagon River
 | 10 miles away This river has nearly 70 miles of river that can be paddled. It goes all the way from the Hayward landing to the Riverside landing after it joins the St Croix River. This river could easily be made into a 3-4 night paddle. It has quite a few canoe campsites and also access to freshwater at several landings. Totogatic River
 | 16 miles away Water levels must be high to do the Upper Totogatic. Otherwise you'll be dragging your canoe over rocks. But it's very wild and remote. There are also old copper mines along the river if you know where to look. Also beware that the area was sacred to the spirit Wanabuju! http://www.atthecreation.com/TOGATIG/TOGA.html... |
