Wunder Er'de Campground
This is a wonderful place to go if you have kids who like being outside and getting dirty in all the sand. My family go's here every weekend and it's the highlight of our week. It is a relaxing place to go and have fun with family and friends, where everyone is friendly!!...Please visit www.wundererde.com...
Cedar Hills Campground
...k City. Horse trails adjacent, I don't know if you can keep one at camp. Pets allowed, on leash. At least one regular camper lands his helicopter at camp occasionally, so if you have one... Overnight camping is about $16, electric sites available. Bring quarters for the showers. Ice and firewood available. Many sites have absolutely beautiful views, you won't find this at Jellystone. You also won't find a camp store, organized activities, golf carts, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. This is a very pleasant basic campground. Not much to offer to bored little kids other than that which nature provides. It's not uncommen to see hawks and bald eagles soaring over the valley. From our site this spring we regularly see an adult pair of eagles with their babies. Cool. Interesting aside thing, this is also an operating farm, with cows and corn and tractors and stuff. You have to drive past the barn to get in. Remember to say HI! to the cows, they appreciate the attention. One last thing: Please don't tell anyone else about this place; Carl might raise the prices ...
Devil's Lake State Park
10 miles away Stayed here last weekend with some friends and it was great. I have never stayed in a State Park before and have always camped at privately-owned campgrounds. I must confess that I will probably always pursue State Park's over private grounds from here on out! The park was clean, the staff laid back and friendly, our site was well shaded and secluded. It was especially great to hang our tarp during a rainstorm. There were ample trees to tie rope too, which is unlike most private grounds I've been on where they simply cut out an area and your site is a patch of grass surrounded by sparse trees and foliage. The bathrooms were clean, and the Park has many great amenities for young, old, climbers or families. Plus, from the Park you can be at the Dells in about half an hour! I highly recommend!...
