Skiing at Christie Mountain is one of those things you just ought to do; Duncan Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the neighborhood of Coon Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Coon Lake; Deer Fly Trail is a good local                  trail; you can stay the night at Loon Lake Camp Grounds. This lake is so wonderful. Paradise Shores Resort Hotel is a delightful site to get some rest, and tremendous hiking is available along the Hickory Ridge Trail. Go for a hike on the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail, and there are plenty of people from Eau Claire here. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Coon Lake while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's.
