Columbus Lake is a good site of normal precipitation; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. If only every location had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great earth it would be. Swamps like Henderson Slough in close proximity to Columbus Lake make for glorious       places to explore; unsurprisingly Village Creek flows through this region. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Columbus Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's while Columbus Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Columbus Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Andy Mountain Campground is a nice location                  to camp nearby, and Effigy Mounds National Monument is a tremendous spot close by. The Yellow River State Forest Trail offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Americinn - Prairie Du Chien, Wi is a glorious location to spend a night or two.
