A tremendous nearby hotel is Brisbois Motor Inn; if you get bored of Columbus Lake you could also have a look at close by Big Lake. Columbus Lake is a good site of normal precipitation; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. If only every location had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great earth it would be. Swamps like Henderson Slough in close proximity to Columbus Lake make for glorious

| | places to explore; unsurprisingly Village Creek flows through this region. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Columbus Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's while Columbus Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. to spend a night or two. Red Barn Resort and Campground is a delightful local campground, and Chain of Lakes is a nearby lake that you could visit.

 | 24 miles away Mt. La Crosse is a great place to ski and is a convenient drive for many. There are enough challenging runs to keep you busy and a race course is available on Sundays. The Nastar course on Mt. La Crosse seems more difficult than in Beaver Creek, CO. They have a variety of runs and a terrain park.
