After a long day outdoors Eagle River Days Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and a brilliant place to camp here at Columbus Lake is Running's Campground and Bar. Don't leave Columbus Lake without first going for a hike along the Anvil Lake Trail System; why not camp at Otter Lake Trailer Bowl if you're here at Columbus Lake. There's splendid hiking along the Kimball Creek Trail.       That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; Columbus Lake has it all. Burnham Creek is a fine local stream; delightful hiking is available along the Kentuck-Spectacle Lake Trail. A round of golf at nearby Lake Forest Recreation Area Golf Course is a perfect way to kill some time, and float down the rapids of Wisconsin River in a kayak. Summertime highs at Columbus Lake generally tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The                  wintertime brings highs down to the 10's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Columbus Lake drop into the-10's. Columbus Lake gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; during the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
