There's delightful hiking along the Bearskin State Park Trail. There's so much to do here at Lake Clara that you need to camp here for a while, Northforest Campgrounds is a fine place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is fine on Wisconsin River, and Lake Clara is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Birkensee Resort is a nice local campground. You'll come across a charming lake called Lake Mary near Lake Clara, and lakes are such serene

| | sites, why not visit Lake Doris. The warmest time of the year at Lake Clara arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Clara drop into the-10's.

This lake is so wonderful. From a rainfall point of view Lake Clara is a rather typical place; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest of the months is February.

This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane....
