Camp Nine Lake is a lake nearby, and there's good hiking along the Pigeon Lake Trail. Bois Brule River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and the Virgin Pine Trail offers hiking at its best. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Camping at Birch Grove Campground is always a wonderful experience, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Hayward Wisconsin is a wonderful location to spend       a night or two. Summer at Claire Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Claire Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Hayward; if you came to camp Wildwood Campground is a glorious site to do that. Since you might be in a lake visiting                  mood you can always stop by close by Wilderness Lake; Claire Lake is right by the North Country Trail.
