     If you need a spot to stay Americas Best Value Inn/Lake Mills is a pleasant choice; unsurprisingly Beaver Dam River flows through this area. There's so much to do here at Chub Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Astico Dodge County Park is a nice location for that, and Chub Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Willow Mill Campsites is a perfect local campground. Comfort Suites Johnson Creek is a delightful spot to get some rest, and you're  
   probably hooked on lakes, Mud Lake is one of those close by. Summertime highs at Chub Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Chub Lake are in the 0's.
If you go for the outdoors, you'll fancy Chub Lake. An average amount of precipitation falls at Chub Lake; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and
 
               the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to bump into some great folks from Watertown-Fort Atkinson here. Lakes are magnificent; Danville Millpond 165 is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Chub Lake.

...ce skate there or play hockey in winter, but leave your boat home! It was a popular place for ice skating in my grandmother's day (1920's - 1940's). If you are planning on camping nearby, be advised that Horicon and Beaver Dam are both 1/2 an hour away or more. River Bend resort is about 7 miles West of Watertown, but I think you need to be a member to camp there. To sum this all up: Watertown is named such because it was founded on the horseshoe bend of the Rock RIVER- not LAKE. If you want lakes, go east a bit to the Oconomowoc area. This is called Lake Country for a reason. You will find Lac Labelle and Fowler Lake nearly join at Highway 67 which runs north and south. It is very pretty at sunset. If that doesn't interest you, go southwest of Watertown about 15 minutes to Lake Mills. You'll find fishing and watersports much more accessible here than at Silver Creek! If you come to Watertown, take a walk across the bridge on North Second street around sunset. Stop halfway across the bridge and face west.
