In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chippewa River, and camping at Blueberry       Campground is always a glorious experience. If the weather is tremendous here at Chief Lake, you can go for a hike along the Tuscobia Park Falls State Trail; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Hayward. The amount of rainfall that falls at Chief Lake is close to the national average; throughout August this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Hit the slopes at Christie Mountain in the vicinity, and since you're here you must visit                  Squaw Bay. For the period of the long summer days here at Chief Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. A good place to camp here at Chief Lake is Hayward Koa Kampground. This lake is so wonderful.
