If you come at the right time of year, St. Croix River offers some brilliant whitewater. There's so much to do here at Chicog Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Log Cabin Resort and Canoe Renta is a tremendous spot for that. From a precipitation point of view Chicog Lake is a rather normal location; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Chicog       Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Chicog Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Eau Claire River. Take a side spree to Little Chicog Creek, and while you're here you can play some golf at                  Black Bear Golf Club. If you came to camp Shangri La Lodge Campground is a splendid spot to do that, and Best Western American Heritage Inn is a glorious place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
