All through the summertime highs here at Lake Chetek reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Chetek temperatures plunge to the-10's. The amount of rainfall that falls at Lake Chetek is close to the national average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This       lake is so wonderful. Some of the water close by flows, like Beaver Creek, and Lake Chetek is right by the Hardwood Trail. Chetek WP277 Dam is a scenic place right next door to Lake Chetek, and do take a hike on the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail. Lakes are fine; Chetek Flowage 135 is a lake that's right next door to Lake Chetek, and a delightful nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Chetek. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps don’t sound that good but Pike Slough                  next to Lake Chetek is rather good, and you can stay the night at Chetek River Campgrounds. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Lake Chetek. If you're here at Lake Chetek and you like golf, you can take a look at Sunset View Country Club; after a long day outdoors Viking Motel is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two.
