Go for a hike on the Deer Fly Trail; if you need a site to stay Paradise Shores Resort Hotel is a fine choice. Lakes are pleasant; Atwood Lake is a lake that's close to Cather Lake; gorgeous scenery and delightful skiing is what you acquire at Christie Mountain. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Chetek is a good spot to spend a night or two, and if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River offers some       great whitewater. All through the summertime months highs here at Cather Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Cather Lake. An average amount of precipitation falls at Cather Lake; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Cather Lake is a                  good location to camp, Loon Lake Camp Grounds is a good location, and float down the rapids of Duncan Creek in a kayak. Going for a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you're sure to bump into some smiling folks from Eau Claire here. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There is a nice hiking trail near Cather Lake called the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail; Kamp Sugarrbush Bar and Campgrnd is a wonderful campground here.
