Good hiking is available along the Virgin Pine Trail, and camping at Cat Lake is great fun, Wildwood Campground is a great local campground. Bass Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and don't leave Cat Lake without first going for a hike along the Pigeon Lake Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Cat Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August while February is commonly the driest       month. All the outdoors amusing stuff near Cat Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Cat Lake is a great place to camp, Birch Grove Campground is a great place. A pleasant close by hotel is Hummingbird Haven, and an afternoon playing golf at Northern Pines Golf Course is always a joy. At Cat Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's, and after                  the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Cat Lake descend into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
