East Fork White River is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit; there's tremendous hiking along the Pigeon Lake Trail. Carson Pond is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Perch Lake Campground is a perfect local campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Carson Pond; North Country Trail is a good local trail. Carson Pond gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; the wettest month       of the year is typically September, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Bass Lake is a good lake in the neighborhood of Carson Pond, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Holiday House is a glorious place to spend a night or two.
